Revisiting Do One Nice Thing

It's been a while since I visited Do One Nice Thing. You may remember my post from earlier this year featuring the site.

This week, they are honoring Wendy Shalit. "She is the leader of a band of rebellious young women. Their motto: "Girls Gone Mild! Be daring. Keep your shirt on." Wendy didn't intend to start a social movement. It started a few years ago when her book, "A Return to Modesty: Discovering the Lost Virtue" stirred up a hornet's nest of discussion."

"Her idea: Now that women have many more opportunities than they used to and can be "as bad as the boys are", why aren't they happy? And why do many men treat women so disrespectfully? Self-mutilation, depression and date rape are skyrocketing. She says it's because modesty and behavioral norms were tossed out, and with the help of the media our culture became coarse."

"So responding to popular demand, Wendy started ModestyZone.net - a forum for young women and a large number of sympathetic men - to exchange ideas and lend support. The site examines college life, raising children and how to dress to project who you are inside."

To continue reading about Wendy and how she is managing to do one nice thing every day, go to DoOneNiceThing.com.

I've said it many times before, but it's worth repeating again, You never know what is going on in someone's life. A simple hello and a smile can and will go a long way. Give it a try tomorrow. You won't be disappointed.

Until tomorrow, make it a great day!
