How many times have you received an email from a friend with a warning about going to ATM's alone or something similar? Everytime you receive an email or hear a story that sounds too good to be true or sounds like a hoax, the first place you should go is to Snopes.com. I have been visiting the site for years because a company I worked for about six years ago represented the site.
It's a great site to read when you have some free time. The site lists just about every urban legend you have ever heard, and it tells you whether the legend is true or false. Some of the emails it features that are completey false are the Microsoft email about Bill Gates giving away money to people who forward the email and an email that is making the rounds again because of rising gas prices about boycotting certain Gas stations to lower overall gas prices.
So be careful the next time you get an email asking you to do something strange or weird. Before you forward it, check out Snopes.com first to make sure it's not a hoax...
Good luck and make it a great day!
