The reality is that those with the perfect beach body work hard all year round to achieve it. Eating right, making smart food choices, and working out regularly are the keys to the body almost everyone will envy. Having said that, it's never too late to improve your body and your look for your bathing suit, bikini, or tankini.

With summer bearing down on you, here is a 10 step plan and some last-minute tips to shed some pounds and tone up. Start your beach body boot camp today."

  1. Write it Down - Keep a food and beverage diary
  2. Camel Up - Drink 8-10 eight-ounce glasses of water a day
  3. Sweat - 30 minutes of aerobic exercise 5 times a week
  4. Pump Iron - Lift weights 2-3 times a week
  5. Catch Enough ZZZZ's - Get at least 8 hours of sleep every night
  6. Eat Breakfast - It's the most important meal of the day
  7. Just Say No to Sugar and Sweets - Enough said
  8. Imbibe Less - Limit your alcohol intake
  9. Go Digital - Take pictures of yourself along the way
  10. Enlist a Friend - Keep each other motivated
