2008 Presidential Hopefuls

We're still over a year away from the first Presidential primaries, but the field of potential candidates for President of the United States is already getting crowded. Here's a look at the potential candidates from both parties:

Democrats who have formed exploratory committees (Usually means they will be running):

• Former North Carolina Senator John Edwards
• Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd
• Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack
• Ohio Representative Dennis Kucinich
• Illinois Senator Barack Obama

The following Democrats have not formed committees, but will most likely run:

• Delaware Senator Joe Biden
• Retired General Wesley Clark
• New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton
• Former Vice President Al Gore
• Massachusetts Senator John Kerry
• New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson

Republicans who have formed exploratory committees:

• Kansas Senator Sam Brownback
• Former Virginia Governo Jim Gilmore
• Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani
• Arizona Senator John McCain
• Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney
• Former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson
• California Representative Duncan Hunter
• Texas Representative Ron Paul
• Colorado Representative Tom Tancredo

The following Republicans will more than likely join the race:

• New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg
  
• Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich
• Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel
• Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee
• Former New York Governor George Pataki
