Gimundo.com has a great little article about five ways you can help save the lives of animals. Here are the five ways:
Adopt from a shelter. This is a no-brainer, but there are still thousands of pets who are put to sleep in shelters around the country on a daily basis. Before you call or visit a breeder, visit your local shelter and give some lucky pet a second chance at life. They'll definitely return the favor... PetFinder.com is a good place to start looking for a pet to adopt if you aren't sure where your local animal shelter is located.
Foster. I love this concept. A good friend of mine was fostering a Weimaraner, and they are now going to adopt it.
Volunteer at a shelter. Self-explanatory - If you can't adopt or foster a pet, then the next best thing is to volunteer at your local shelter.
Spay or neuter your pets. Without a doubt, this is one of the most important things you can do as a pet owner to help control the pet population.
Donate to an animal welfare organization. These organizations can't operate without money. Let's do our part and keep them in business.
