Are You As Fed Up With Email Spam As I Am?

If you're like me, when you check your email every morning, the first thing you're met with are emails touting the latest and greatest sexual enhancement drugs, get rich quick schemes, weight loss dream pills and many other wonderful products that spammers love to promote. Have you had enough?

If you answered yes, then I have a solution for you. For those of you who've been reading my blog for quite some time, you know that I don't normally post articles about products. However, a friend of mine recommended a product to me the other day that I fell in love with. It's called Spam Arrest and it truly is a necessity for everyone this day and age.

Here's how it works: When someone sends you an email, before the email is sent, the sender receives an email that asks them to verify they're a human. It does this simply by asking them to verify they sent the email. While this isn't going to stop other humans who are spamming you one email at a time, it will stop all the automated spam that somehow seems to by-pass your email software's spam filters since the spamming software can't verify the message it sent. Click here to see a demo of how this works.

And, the other reason I'm recommending this to you is because they have a 30 free trial, which I personally am taking advantage of. Here are the details of the free trial directly from the website:

Spam Arrest Free Trial Details

The Spam Arrest free trial gives you a chance to try out our service before purchasing a subscription. There is no obligation, and you may cancel at any time.

If you have not subscribed to Spam Arrest by the end of the trial, your account will automatically be converted to a month-to-month subscription, and your credit card will be billed at the standard rate of $5.95 per month.

If you wish to cancel your account before the end of the trial period, you may do so by visiting http://www.spamarrest.com/members/cancel.jsp

That's it! No strings attached.

So, if you'd like to stop receiving all the junk you've been getting in your email, give SpamArrest a try. I think you'll like it.

Until tomorrow, make it a great day!

Husband Saves Wife From Crocodile By Poking It In The Eyes

From BBC News - An Australian man and his wife were visiting the Litchfield National Park near Darwin in Australia's Northern Territory when a crocodile lunged out of the water and grabbed his wife by the legs.

Instinctively, the man jumped into the water and like the Crocodile Hunter himself, he jumped on the back of the croc and started wrestling with it. While on the croc's back, he managed to poke it in both eyes, and that's when he believes it let go of his wife.

Even though he rescued her, her injuries were very severe and are going to require surgery, but it was his self-less act that saved his wife's life. To read the complete story, please go to this page on the BBC News' website.

Ideas For Random Acts of Kindness

Nothing will make you feel better than committing a random act of kindness, and your act will make someone else feel the same way. Pay it forward - it's the only way to live. If you're stuck trying to think of ideas, here are some I came up with to help you get started:
  • Tip someone who is not expecting it – Toll Booth Operator, Fast Food Drive-thru Clerk, Garbage Handlers – You get the idea – It’ll make their day and yours
  • Say “Good Morning” to someone at work you normally don’t talk to
  • Call a relative or friend you haven’t spoken to in a long time just to say "Hi"
  • If you see some trash on the sidewalk or in front of your office or favorite restaurant, pick it up and throw it away – If we all did this on a regular basis, litter would be a thing of the past
  • Hand-write a note or thank you letter to someone who has helped you get where you are today – Don’t email or type the letter – Take out a pen and write
  • Donating clothes is always a great idea – A twist to this act – If you see the same homeless person near your home or work, stop and give them one of your jackets, shirts, blanket, etc.
  • If you’re searching for the perfect gift to give your parents, grandparents or friends, why not sponsor an eye surgery for a blind person in a third-world country in your friends honor – Think out of the box – Who can you help in your friends honor...
  • Send your favorite elementary school teacher a “thank you” card for helping you become who you are today
  • Open the door for someone at a public place
  • Tip a great waiter/waitress 40% every now and then or write something nice to them on the back of the bill complimenting them
  • Slip the busboy at your favorite restaurant a $20 bill (or whatever you can afford)
  • If you know your neighbor is going through hard times (health problems, death in family, etc.), offer to cut their grass, sweep their drive or go to the grocery store for them for free
  • Write a personal note to the boss/manager of an employee who went out of their way to help you
  • Utilize the telephone – Have a big family? Organize a conference call with everyone
  • If possible, adopt a dog or cat from a shelter
  • Offer to walk an elderly couples dog
These are just some of the ideas that popped into my head this morning. There are a million other things you can do to "make some one's day". How about you? One random act would be to share with us what you've done. Use the comment field to share your random act of kindness.

I hope I've given you some ideas. Now, let's all go out and help someone have a great day!

14-Year Old Girl Helps Passengers Escape Burning Plane

From Gimundo.com - When a jetliner leaving the Congo last week crashed through a fence and into a market while trying to takeoff, April Mosier, a 14-year old passenger saved the day. Because of the nature of the crash, the exits were blocked, but April and another passenger managed to open up a crack in the plane enough for April to get out and open an escape route from the plane.

She saved the lives of many passengers including her parents and adopted little brother. She truly is a modern day hero. To read the full story of how April's quick thinking saved lives, go to this page on Gimundo.com

Man Trapped In Elevator For Over 41 Hours In 1999 Is Now Famous

Back in 1999, this guy was trapped in an elevator for over 41 hours. The entire ordeal was captured by the video surveillance cameras in the top of the elevator, and the video has just now been leaked out onto the Internet, and all of a sudden, this guy is now making the rounds on the talk shows. Here he is on Good Morning America talking with Diane Sawyer about the ordeal.

I have to give Diane a lot of credit for this interview because he's not exactly the easiest person to interview. He's pretty bland, but he's definitely one lucky man. Enjoy!

Improv Everywhere teamed up with NBC Sports and surprised the players and parents of a random little league baseball game by showing up with a jumbotron, the Goodyear blimp, announcers, fans and mascots, etc. The reactions from the players and parents is great. What a great experience for these players, and a cool idea of a show. Enjoy!

Please Donate To The Walk Of Life For Cancer Research

Hello everyone,

A friend of mine is trying to raise money for a very worthy cause. It's The Joy to Life Foundation and they are holding the Walk of Life, a 5K run/walk through downtown Montgomery, AL, which will be held at Cramton Bowl on April 19, 2008. The Walk of Life is the major fundraiser for the Joy to Life Foundation. It is intended to raise awareness and dollars to help pay for free mammograms for women under 50 years of age. He's trying to raise $5,000, and right now, he's at $750. Think you can help him out? Every little bit helps!

To donate, please visit this page.

Let's help him reach his goal: Forward this to a Friend

Americans Don't Agree On Much, But We All Agree The Bible Is The #1 Book Of All-Time

A new Harris Poll revealed that America's favorite book is the Bible.

When it comes to literary pursuits in the United States most people agree on at least one thing -- the most popular book is the Bible, according to a new survey."

"Finally, they may not agree on candidates, but one thing that brings together partisans is their favorite book. For Republicans, Democrats and Independents, the top two books are the same -- the Bible followed by "Gone With the Wind."

If we're all going to agree on one thing, then I'm glad this is it. To read the full article and find out which other books Americans like, please visit this page on Yahoo.com.

Tiger Woods Unbelievable Chip On The 16th Hole At The Masters in 2005

It's the week of the Masters Golf tournament, which is like the Super Bowl or World Series for golf fans. I thought I'd take a look at one of the most memorable moments in the history of the tournament this week. Today's video is from the 2005 tournament. It's Tiger Woods' 2nd shot on the par 3 16th hole, and it's one of the most unbelievable chips you'll ever see. I remember watching this on TV and I couldn't help but jump when Tiger's ball went in the hole. Enjoy!
